Yabusame; Mounted Archery

Yabusame is a type of Japanese archery, one that is performed while riding a horse.

It is dedicated to gods of this shrine in a festival of thanksgiving this year's harvest.

This is a purification ceremony.
Do the horses understand the situation?

We can't ask too much of them.

In front of a shrine gate mounted archers performed archery gestures.

  1. The archery looked like a lot of fun. It looked like you had a lot of fun taking the pictures. I was impressed with the shrine, it is beautiful.

  2. There were many amateur photographers. The performers played six times.
But taking a good shot was difficult.
This shrine is old but this is a local area so that it is not popular.
